PictureTrail partners with Handango as a major distributor
of the applications
San Francisco, California, June 7, 2004 - PictureTrail, a
popular photo sharing site, announced today the release of an application that
empowers members to view images on graphics capable mobile phones.
This first application makes the service available on the
Brew platform and for the Symbian operating system. "This is the first phase
of the company's expansion into the wireless imaging market," said Val D'Souza,
President of PictureTrail. Future releases will include Java-based applications
and expanded coverage of graphics enabled mobile phones.
The Brew based application includes a comprehensive suite
of photo sharing and viewing options including multi-level zoom, email to friends,
save to local pics, and save as wallpaper. Users can also browse other member
accounts on their phone.
The Symbian OS application is the only photo sharing application in the US that's
written native to the operating sytem. This means the UI and functionality provide
a seamless transition to the powerful user interface familiar to Symbian based
smart phone users. The Symbian application not only includes all the Brew application
functionality, but provides upload capability and image management options as
well.
PictureTrail has partnered with Handango as a major distributor
for the Symbian OS application. For more information about Handango, go to www.handango.com
